Great women. Often difficult paths. Examples of determination and courage, a sincere desire to change things, efforts and lots of hard work. And of course, dreams come true.

That’s what the Lise Watier Foundation is all about.

The following testimonies confirm that your support concretely helps women here regain their self-esteem and trace their path towards self-reliance.

“Hello, I’m the recipient of a Lise Watier grant, which I received through Dans la rue. As I finish up my first session in Adventure Tourism in Gaspésie, I wanted to thank you for giving me this amazing opportunity to take control of my life and participate in such a unique experience, in a program that’s perfect for me. The grant has allowed me to focus on my studies and excel at school as never before. I’m living in an environment that suits me perfectly, and which has enabled me to get back on track, take care of myself and thrive—something I may never have been able to do had I not received this grant. I’m in a program that mostly caters to men, so I am proud to be one of the five women who were accepted, and I aim to succeed at school to show we have our place in this field. Thanks to you I can achieve my goal, and I will!

I cannot thank you enough, and I promise to honour women by becoming an exceptional adventure guide!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!”

“While I know how hard I’ve worked, I want to thank you for the opportunity you’ve given me. Without this financial assistance, I probably wouldn’t be where I am today.”

“Before I was given an apartment in the Lise Watier Pavilion, I had to arrange visits with my children at McDonald’s because I didn’t want them to know I was living in a shelter. Now that I have this apartment, thanks to the Old Brewery Mission, my children can visit me every day after school. Thank you Mrs. Lise Watier. Thanks to you, I have literally regained my children and my life!”

“A simple thank you isn’t enough to express how much you’ve made a difference in my family’s life. You’ve allowed me to focus on my studies, and to dream of a better future.”

“I was in an extremely difficult situation. I barely had enough money to pay my rent and bills. Thanks to you, I can go to school with a clear head. I’m in the nursing program at Collège de Bois-de-Boulogne, and I can also take better care of my daughter. Thank you again and again!”

“How fascinating to hear these women’s stories. They have grown immensely throughout the Let’s Start Up Program. It’s like a wheel in motion and we are very proud to be part of it.”
