A professional development program
The Lise Watier Foundation offers the Let’s Start Up Program to women who are looking to achieve a professional project related to entrepreneurship, the pursuit of post-secondary education or the search for a more fulfilling job.
The first few weeks of training focus on entrepreneurial values and attitudes
Women develop their entrepreneurial skills, such as autonomy, creativity, leadership, etc. The development of these skills is not only beneficial for those who wish to start their own business, but are also essential in the context of employability. Besides, the workshops and meetings also allow women to discover their possibilities and then develop their confidence and capacity for action.
Then, women are then asked to choose a career path
Start
a business
Training and coaching to give women the tools to start a business. Once the program is completed, it is possible to apply for a microloan.
Find a
better job
Individual coaching or referral to the best resources in employability, based on the strengths and skills worked on in the first stage of the program.
Pursue
education
Financial aid to support women in their return to post-secondary education (DEP, college or university) and to help them obtain a diploma in a reasonable time.
The Let’s Start Up Program
An accessible and free program
The program is offered in French and English. It is currently offered in five regions of Quebec: Montreal, Quebec City, Laurentians, Montérégie and Sherbrooke. It is also offered in Toronto. Cohorts generally start twice a year.
A certified
program by Concordia University
The first step of the Let’s Start Up program is certified by Concordia University Continuing Education. The University also certifies the Entrepreneurship stream, giving women who have chosen this stream a Certificate of Professional Development at a graduation ceremony at Concordia University.

Community
The Let’s Start Up Program is also a chance to be part of a dynamic community of women who share the same desire to take action. Specific training is offered by experts in the field of business and entrepreneurship.
At the end of the program…
- The women have a better understanding of their strengths and skills
- They have the knowledge and tools necessary to implement their professional project
- They have made stimulating and rewarding encounters

Involvement :
- 3 h of workshops / week
- 3 h of preparation / week
