A word from our co-chairs

“With a capital markets career spanning over two decades, a mother of three, and as an immigrant, advocacy for women’s rights and creating a more diverse and equitable workforce has always been near and dear to my heart.  As an active member of Women in Capital Markets, I have been an official and unofficial mentor to many up-and-coming women in all socio-economic circumstances.  Growing up, I was inspired by watching my immigrant mother build an esthetics business, without any financial help or guidance, while caring and raising a family.  Today, I am motivated by my two daughters, who drive me to build a better world for them, one in which they can grow and succeed without any prejudice.  The Lise Watier Foundation and the “Let’s Start Up” program speaks to me as it strives to provide all women, despite their background, financial independence by giving them the right tools to succeed.”

“The Guy Côté Wealth Management Team of National Bank Financial has supported the Lise Watier Foundation since its inception. Guided by the desire to do more to support women’s financial independence, it is with great enthusiasm that I accepted to co-chair the first fundraising event in support of the Let’s Start Up program in Toronto. I am proud to be involved with the Foundation, because helping women take off professionally is helping the future!.”

How will the funds be used?

The funds raised will be used to support Let’s Start Up, the professional development program of the Lise Watier Foundation.

By taking part in this event, you will contribute to …

  • Help local women find a professional path that meets their expectations;
  • Give them back their self-esteem and confidence in their abilities;
  • Offer them the opportunity to develop their skills and knowledge;
  • Encourage female entrepreneurship;
  • Create a richer and more equitable society.

Want to do more?

As part of its fundraising event for the Lise Watier Foundation, the National Bank of Canada is organizing a draw. We are looking for prizes to offer during this unique event. By offering products or services for our draw, in addition to an interesting visibility, you will support the career path of local women.

Please note that a tax receipt equivalent to the market value of the prize will be issued.

Graduate of the Let’s Start Up Program

The Lise Watier Foundation offers the Let’s Start Up program in Montreal, Toronto, Quebec City, the Laurentians and Montérégie. More than 200 women a year are committed to taking action through the Let’s Start Up program. They graduate with a better understanding of their strengths and skills, as well as the knowledge and tools to implement their professional project. Women thus begin a new journey towards financial independence through entrepreneurship, a return to school or a more fulfilling job.
