The take off Celebration

The Take Off Celebration, an emotional moment!

On May 12, the Let’s Start Up program participants of the Winter 2022 cohort took part in the Take Off Celebration. This event marked the successful completion of Step 1, which focuses on the development of entrepreneurial skills and attitudes.

During the celebration, the women received a Certification of skills development from Concordia University. Ms. Isabel Dunnigan, Associate Vice-President, Lifelong Learning and Executive Director, Continuing Education at Concordia University, was present to hand out the certificates and congratulate the participants. Ms. Lise Watier also came to share an inspiring message to motivate the women to continue their journey.

Strength, courage, commitment, development, surpassing oneself, gratitude … these are the strong words that came out of this celebration. Through the testimonies of the participants, we could detect all the pride, the renewed confidence and their motivation to achieve their professional project. What an emotional moment!

Thank you to our precious partners

The Caisse de Dépôt et Placements du Québec (CDPQ), the Mirella and Lino Saputo Foundation and the Rossy Foundation have provided us with significant support to enhance this first phase of the program. Since last September, we have offered new pedagogical content, focusing on the development of entrepreneurial skills in order to stimulate women’s confidence in their abilities and their professional potential. Thank you for the confidence you have shown in us.

Considering the results obtained from the first two cohorts that have experienced it, Step 1 of the program is, without a doubt, a relevant preparation for women and a way to accelerate their success in realizing their professional project leading to financial autonomy.

MARIE-ÈVE

Graduate of the Let’s Start Up Program

The Lise Watier Foundation offers the Let’s Start Up program in Montreal, Toronto, Quebec City, the Laurentians and Montérégie. More than 200 women a year are committed to taking action through the Let’s Start Up program. They graduate with a better understanding of their strengths and skills, as well as the knowledge and tools to implement their professional project. Women thus begin a new journey towards financial independence through entrepreneurship, a return to school or a more fulfilling job.
