A story of hope
Lise Watier was born in the working-class neighborhood of Hochelaga-Maisonneuve, close to the women she has been helping for decades to accentuate their beauty by showcasing their attributes and building their self-esteem. Ms. Watier’s Beauty and Charm Institute in the 1960s, her perfumes, and her skin-care and make-up products, which have always been on the cutting edge of cosmetology trends, are all a testament to her faith in women’s capacity to develop their self-confidence, reach their full potential, and stand out from the crowd.
The Lise Watier Foundation, established in 2009, is a further expression of her belief in and hope for these women.
Helping women: a true calling
By taking advantage of the strong network of business contacts built over the course of her successful entrepreneurial career, Lise Watier was able to create the Lise Watier Foundation, an organization that raises funds and then redistributes them to various Canadian organizations sharing a common mission: to help women develop their sense of self-worth, take charge of their destiny, and achieve financial autonomy. Therefore, since 2009, through a series of sponsorships and fundraising events as well as through the sale of Lise Watier feature products, the Foundation was able to provide funds to various organizations for the implementation of specific programs related to its mission.
The Foundation has now developed and implemented its own intervention program, the Let’s Start Up program, which complements existing emergency support services and social reintegration services by encouraging and helping women in need to reach their full potential by starting up their own business, or by returning to school or to the job market.
