The Foundation launches the Believe in her 2024 campaign

For International Women’s Day, the Lise Watier Foundation launches the 3nd edition of the Believe in her campaign

Montreal, March 8, 2024 – To mark International Women’s Day, the Lise Watier Foundation is launching the third edition of its iconic Believe in her campaign, which involves 26 ambassadors from the Quebec and Toronto business communities to bring the Let’s Start Up Program to more women. Most of them have benefited from some form of support at one time or another in their careers, and together they are committed to mobilizing their networks and the public to give back by raising the sum of $125,000.

A movement of solidarity

At a time when nearly 50% of working women in Canada earn less than $30,000 a year*, the Let’s Start Up Program is a relevant lever to help women living in a situation of economic, social or professional vulnerability to achieve sustainable financial independence.

“When geese fly, they move in a V formation. This way, they move faster and face the bad weather. They take turns to lead the flock and make sure that they always support those who are injured or sick. They help each other to reach their goal. This solidarity inspired the Let’s Start Up program, because we believe that we too are stronger together,” says Lise Watier, founder of the Lise Watier Foundation.

Since 2017, this innovative professional development program has supported nearly 1,000 women, and a growing number of women aspire to benefit from this opportunity.
